A multi-agency project of UCNSB, City of New Smyrna Beach, Volusia County, and Edgewater to upgrade a half-mile stretch of 10th Street is set to start July 2020. The $10.4 million construction project will realign and widen 10th Street from two lanes to four lanes between Myrtle Avenue east to U.S. 1. P&S Paving, Inc. of Daytona Beach, one of two bidders, will perform the work. The work will include reconstruction of the railroad crossing and replacement of the existing railroad trestle bridge over the Gabordy Canal with a dual box culvert. UCNSB's water and electric infrastructure will be relocated and upgraded in the project area. Service impact is expected to be minimal. The project is anticipated to take 20 months to complete.
