Today, we have been made aware of scammers contacting customers with claims they are representing the Utilities Commission. Specifically, customers are being warned that their power will be shut off if they don't make immediate payment. The scammer is calling from a local number and is giving the name Larry Anderson. There are reports they have masked the call to show as coming from our phone number. This is not how we alert customers of outstanding balances. In addition, here is the main difference: we will NEVER have a live person taking a credit card number over the phone. If you receive such a call and want to ensure the call is not from us, please hang up and call 386-427-1361 to speak to Customer Service.
