1/14/19 UPDATE: Due to Volusia County permitting issues, it is now anticipated this project will be completed in mid-February. Thank you for your patience.
The Utilities Commission’s Engineering Department has contracted with Masci Corporation for sanitary sewer replacement on Saxon Drive. This replacement is the continuation of the Lift Station 4 and 34 Replacement Project Phase 1, completed November 2, 2017. Masci will be required to keep vehicular access open for Sandpiper St. and for those residents fronting Saxon Dr. (3803, 3805, 3807, 3811 Saxon Dr. and 801 Sandpiper).
Construction is anticipated from November 12, 2018 through January 19, 2019. A northbound and southbound detour will be required to complete this project. We are expecting the following road closure:
SAXON DRIVE FROM OAKVIEW ST. SOUTH TO SCHOOLWAY AVE. THE ROAD CLOSURE FOR SAXON DRIVE IS SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 5, 2018 through JANUARY 19, 2019. Both OAKVIEW AND SCHOOLWAY are expected to remain open as part of the detour.
Restoration, including but not limited to, asphalt, sidewalk, sod, and driveways, will occur once the new sanitary system is tested, cleared for use, and put into service. Should there be any planned disruptions to normal water service during construction, you will receive a minimum 48-hour notice. Questions regarding the project, call Derek M. Wainscott, P.E., Director of Engineering, at 386-424-3019 (office) or Chris Wright, Project Manager for Masci Corporation at Ph: 386-322-4500.
